Public Meeting Notice - County of Perth Official Plan on June 23, 2015

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Perth will hold a Public Meeting on June 23, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sebringville Community Centre (302 Huron Road, Sebringville) to hear input from interested persons/parties concerning the existing County of Perth Official Plan policies regarding surplus farm dwelling severances.

The surplus farm dwelling policy was discussed by Council as part of the County of Perth’s Five Year Review of its Official Plan. The current Official Plan policy prohibits the severance of surplus farm dwellings from farm properties (see below). The Public Meeting will serve as a venue for the public to bring forward any comments regarding the current policy:

5.6.3 Residential Use
Consents for the severance of lots for residential use on lands within the "Agriculture" designation shall be prohibited. This includes the creation of all new non-farm related residential lots and the severance of existing farm dwellings (principal dwelling, supplementary dwellings, mobile homes, garden suites), and surplus farm dwellings.”

ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to, Council’s decision to have Section 5.6.3 of the County of Perth Official Plan remain unchanged. Written communications should be sent to the County of Perth Planning and Development Department (Attention: Allan Rothwell).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to Section 5.6.3 of the County Official Plan can be viewed on the County’s website (www.perthcounty.ca) under the Administration tab and is also available for inspection during office hours at the County of Perth Planning and Development Department located in the County Court House at 1 Huron Street in Stratford, Ontario.
