NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF COMPLETE APPLICATION AND NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Perth will hold a Public Meeting on April 20, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the County Court House (1 Huron St., Stratford) to consider an Amendment to the County of Perth Official Plan. The Amendment is being considered pursuant to the provisions of the Ontario Planning Act.

The proposed Official Plan Amendment (OPA) application (which the County has deemed to be complete) affects property in the Municipality of West Perth described as Lot 19 and Part of Lot 20, Concession 11 (Hibbert Ward) (7137 Line 21). The subject property is owned by Gary and Gerda Dill. The approximately 62.5 hectare (154.4 acres) property contains an existing converted bank barn, a Quonset storage structure, and two sheds, as well as a single-detached dwelling.

The application proposes to amend the “Agriculture” policies of the County Official Plan to allow for a use described as an “outdoor wedding reception venue” to be established on the subject property in accordance with Section 5.5.7 (Secondary Farm Occupations) of the County Official Plan.
Section 5.5.7 c) of the County Official Plan states that secondary farm occupation uses shall be limited to those uses which are: related to agriculture and farming; value-added processing or packing operations; involve manufacturing or fabrication of goods; a shop for a trade occupation (e.g. electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, welder); and/or, a craftsperson or artist.

ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed Official Plan Amendment.

If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan Amendment, or of the refusal of a request to amend the Official Plan Amendment, you must make a written request to the Clerk of the County of Perth (Kerri Ann O’Rourke), 1 Huron St. Stratford, ON N5A 5S4.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a Public Meeting or make written submissions to the Council of the Corporation of the County of Perth before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Corporation of the County of Perth to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB).

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a Public Meeting or make written submissions to the Council of the Corporation of the County of Perth before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the OMB unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed Official Plan Amendment is available for inspection during office hours at the County of Perth Planning and Development Department located in the County Court House in Stratford and can be provided in an accessible format upon request.
